Local SEO Audit
Most audits are a sales document with a chart on the front. They list everything that could be improved, because a long list makes the retainer look necessary. This one is ordered by what brings you calls fastest, which usually means it is shorter than you expect.
You get it within 24 hours, it is free, and it is yours whether we work together or not. If the honest answer is that your rankings are fine and the problem is your enquiry handling, that is what it will say.

What a real audit
Should Tell You
A local SEO audit is not a crawl report. A crawler can tell you a meta description is missing. It cannot tell you that you are ranked fourth in the Map Pack across half your catchment because a competitor two streets away has three times your review velocity.
The questions worth answering are commercial ones: where are you losing calls, to whom, and what is the shortest route to taking them back. Everything in the audit exists to answer those three.
What the audit covers:
- Map Pack grid positions: your ranking measured across a geographic grid rather than from one central point, because a single position hides where you disappear.
- Google Business Profile review: categories, services, attributes, posting cadence, duplicates and any suspension risk sitting in the listing.
- Competitor gap analysis: who outranks you, what they have that you do not, and which of those gaps is actually worth closing.
- Tracking honesty check: whether your GA4 and call tracking are telling you the truth, because a surprising number of audits start by finding the data was wrong.
- AI visibility snapshot: what ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini and AI Overviews say when asked for a provider like you, and who they name instead.
- A prioritised fix list: ordered by speed to phone call, marked for what you can do in house and what genuinely needs me.
Send me the business name and the town. That is enough to start.
Request My AuditThe five stages of an
SEO Audit
It takes about a day of my time and roughly ten minutes of yours. The only thing I need from you up front is the business name, the town and read access to your analytics if you have it.
- 1
Baseline
Your current Map Pack and organic positions for the searches that actually convert, measured across a grid rather than a single point, so I can see where in your catchment you vanish.
- 2
Profile & Technical
Google Business Profile examined in full, alongside the site checks that matter for local: speed on a 4G phone, schema, internal linking and whether your service and area pages deserve to rank.
- 3
Competitor Read
The two or three businesses beating you, examined properly. Review velocity, category choices, link profile and page depth, so the gap is a list of specifics rather than a feeling.
- 4
Data & AI Check
Whether your tracking is honest, and what the AI assistants currently say when somebody asks for a provider like you.
- 5
The Fix List
Everything found, ordered by how quickly it produces phone calls, split into what your team can handle and what needs specialist work. Delivered inside 24 hours.
What you actually get

AI visibility snapshot
Four engines asked for a provider like you, with who gets named.
Prioritised fix list
Ordered by speed to phone call, marked for in house or specialist.

Audits Across London
Grid tracking is the part of an audit that depends on location, so the catchment matters. These are the areas I audit most often, though the process is identical anywhere in the UK.
Central London
- City of London
- Westminster
- Holborn
- Soho
- Marylebone
- Mayfair
East London
- Shoreditch
- Canary Wharf
- Hackney
- Tower Hamlets

- Islington
- Hampstead
- Kensington
- Chelsea
- Hammersmith
South London
- Southwark
- Lambeth
- Clapham
- Wandsworth
- Greenwich

Outside London the audit is the same exercise with a different grid. I run them for businesses across the whole of the UK.
Straight answers
Questions,
Answered
Is the local SEO audit really free?
Yes, and there is no obligation attached. It takes me about a day, and it is the most honest sales pitch I have: you see how I think before you spend anything. Plenty of people take the fix list, do the work themselves and never come back, which is a perfectly good outcome.
What do you need from me to start?
The business name, the town you want to rank in, and the services that matter most commercially. Read access to Google Analytics, Search Console and your Google Business Profile makes the audit sharper, but I can produce a useful one from public data alone if you would rather not hand over access to a stranger.
How long does the audit take?
You get it within 24 hours of me having what I need. The walkthrough call, if you want one, is usually twenty minutes and can happen the same week.
Is this different from a free audit tool?
Completely. Automated tools score your page against a checklist. They cannot run a grid scan of your Map Pack positions, read your competitors' review velocity, judge whether your categories are costing you, or ask four AI assistants who they recommend in your area. Those are the parts that explain your rankings, and all of them need a human.
Will you just tell me I need to hire you?
Not if it is not true. The two most common findings are that the Google Business Profile has basic errors anyone can fix, and that the rankings are fine but enquiries are being lost after the phone rings. Neither of those needs a retainer, and both go in the report as written.
Do you audit businesses outside London?
Yes. I am based in the City of London and most audits are for London businesses, but the exercise is identical anywhere in the UK, only with a different grid at the centre of it.
