Build. Redesign. Migrate.
Website Design in UK
Rankings that land on a slow, vague website are an expensive way to lose business. The last mile matters as much as the first: the page has to load, convince and capture before the visitor backs out to the results page and calls whoever is second.
I build sites for local service businesses, so they are designed around the way that customer actually behaves. Someone with a burst pipe at 11pm does not read your About page. They look for a number, decide in seconds whether you look real, and tap.

Design that answers to
Search and Sales
A website has two audiences and most builds only serve one. It has to be legible to a search engine, which reads structure, speed and schema, and persuasive to a person, who reads trust signals and wants one obvious next step.
Treating those as separate projects is why so many redesigns lose rankings. Here, structure, copy and search are decided together, before a single visual is drawn.
What gets built in:
- Core Web Vitals as a requirement: page speed treated as a deliverable you can measure, not a nice-to-have that slips at the end.
- Conversion architecture: click-to-call above the fold, trust signals placed where hesitation happens, and one obvious next step per page.
- Local landing pages: a real page per town you serve, written to rank, not a template with the place name swapped out.
- Schema from day one: LocalBusiness, Service, FAQ and Review markup that corroborates the visible copy.
- Migration without loss: redirect mapping and a pre-launch crawl, so a rebuild does not quietly throw away the rankings you already had.
A website should be your best salesperson, not a digital brochure.
Discuss a WebsiteHow a build
Actually Runs
Five stages, each one feeding the next. Nothing gets designed before the structure is agreed, and nothing gets launched before the redirects are tested.
- 1
Discovery
Goals, audience, competitors and the searches that actually bring you work. If there is an existing site, it gets crawled first, so we know exactly which URLs and rankings have to survive.
- 2
Structure & Strategy
Sitemap, URL structure and internal linking decided against search intent. Every page gets a job: rank for something, convert something, or support something that does.
- 3
Copy & Design
Words written before the visuals are finished, because a layout designed around placeholder text never survives real copy. Design then serves the message rather than fighting it.
- 4
Build & Integrate
Fast, accessible front end, schema wired in, forms connected to your CRM, and call tracking configured so every enquiry can be attributed to a source.
- 5
Launch & Improve
Redirects tested before launch, not after. Then Search Console and analytics watched closely through the first weeks, with fixes applied while it still matters.

Questions,
Answered
Will a redesign lose my current rankings?
Only if it is done badly, which is unfortunately common. Before anything is built, the existing site gets crawled and every ranking URL recorded. Redirects are mapped one to one and tested on staging before launch, then Search Console is watched closely for the first few weeks. Rankings typically wobble for a week or two, then recover and improve.
How long does a website take?
A focused local service site is usually four to eight weeks depending on how many service and location pages it needs, and on how quickly content and approvals come back. Larger multi-location builds take longer, because the structure work matters more.
What platform do you build on?
It depends on what you need to do with it. WordPress when you want to edit everything yourself, or a modern static build when speed and search performance matter more than drag-and-drop editing. I will recommend one and explain the trade-off rather than defaulting to whatever is easiest to build.
Can you work with my existing brand?
Yes. If you have brand guidelines, the site is built to them. If you do not, the design will establish something consistent you can carry into your other materials.
Do you offer ongoing support after launch?
Yes. Launch is the start of the useful data, not the end of the project. Most clients continue with local SEO afterwards, which is where a well built site starts paying for itself.
